Just Peachy!

It's time for a Baby C update! Since the doctor post we haven't been up to much but house renovations! Counter tops were put on a hold (yes, after ours have already been pulled out and we have boards in their place:) due to a little mishap in the marble we purchased. I will keep it short and sweet and just say we have now purchased granite and we will start over again this Thursday! Whew, nothing good comes easy right? Saturday was a long day to say the least! But onto a better subject... I am officially in my 2nd trimester, Yay! I was 13 weeks on Sunday and so I'm hoping all these lovely perks everyone keeps talking about will grace me with their presence soon enough! I honestly cannot believe I am 1/3 of the way there. One of my friends casually said "in 6 months" the other day and I about croaked! It's like time has been moving, but my mind set has not... I still keep thinking 9 months - wowzers! I cannot wait!

*13 Weeks*
{Last week was the first week I really felt like the belly made an appearance. I feel so large in this picture, but I'm starting to realize this belly is here to stay, ha!}

I'm 13 weeks!
Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 13 weeks
Size of baby: The size of a peach (sorry, pregnancy brain has officially kicked in & I totally forgot my peach in the picture!)
Total Weight Gain/Loss: Gained 2 lbs.
Maternity Clothes: Still wearing all regular clothes
Gender: March 21st is our ultrasound, but I think we’re going to have to hold out until the 26th for the revealment
Movement: Not yet
Sleep: I feel like I’ve been sleeping lighter lately, a lot more wakes me up and the 3-4 potty breaks are lovely!
What I miss: Energy, which I hope will return soon & thinking about my annual Miami trip I will have to forgo this summer :( but that’s ok, because baby will be in tow next year & seester's coming to visit!!!
Cravings: Coke Icees
Symptoms: Tired, but other than that I’m good to go!
Best Moment this week: Hearing the heartbeat, it’s just amazing!

*Shout out to Mrs. Ashley Miskel for so graciously handing down her pregnancy body pillow & leg/foot massager for those swollen sunny days to come! So thankful for good friends in many ways;)

Hope everyone is enjoying the warmer weather! Copper is hearing her favorite word more often (w-a-l-k) and she is one happy pup! As for Chris & I let the cook out/pool time season begin (if we don't get a blizzard mid-March,ha)!!

Much love to all & Go Tigers!

A week of HEARTS :)

Well, not only did Valentine's Day sneek upon us this week, but so did our 1st trimester dr. appt! It always seems so far away when we make the next doctor appointment and then, bam it's here! Yesterday we went for our check up at the OBGYN. Seriously when I get out of there I feel like I just went to Nationals (for all you alum cheerleaders out there!) I mean talk about every emotion goes through my body. It starts out with butterflies in the waiting room {Chris usually being a chatter box & making me more nervous, ha!}, then when we get back into the room it's like anxiety yet so nervous my mind is everywhere and then the doc rolls in and I'm like ok, start doing things and tell me how we are! I always have to ask Chris what she said after we leave because my mind is usually still on the thing we were talking about previously, ha. This week I brought my list of questions! hehe :) That was fun! Except one of her answers went something like this, blank stare... "Ummm, I'm not sure what you are talking about?" {shaking head in confusion}, "Um maybe that's something they would have detected on the first ultrasound, I don't know what you mean?", haha! Ok, I'll shut up now :) I just had a small question about the "lungs" which Chris said he thinks I meant "kidneys"! bahaha. No question is a stupid question, right???

So onto the update of the appt... first thing, she said all of my blood work (yes all 8 vials, ugh.) came back great! Then she walked over with the little doppler and said she was going to try and hear the heartbeat. She added that she might not be able to hear it depending on how the baby was laying and she didn't want me to get upset if we didn't. Ok, so you're telling me after I heard the heartbeat 3 weeks ago if I don't hear it today do not be upset? Ha, she better be glad we heard it! She put it right on my tummy and we immediately heard it! She sat there and let us listen to it for a while. Chris and I just looked at each other, it is a feeling I cannot explain. The heartrate was 165 so a pretty strong little heart! Chris always makes Valentine's special, but I must say this is one Valentine heart I will cherish forever!! I hope everyone had a wonderful V-day with their loved ones!

Ohhh, and I almost forgot! The big day we find out the gender is March 21st!!! I cannot wait! It's only a little over 4 weeks away!! Might I add that it is on a Monday and Chris wants to do the cake revealment Saturday when he's off work. Haa! Somebody better hide that envelope far far away if that's the case:)

P.S. Sorry, for the post with no pictures, I promise I will get some up this weekend! And also, I realize I didn't post a 12 week pregnancy highlight I didn't get a picture last weekend, but 13 weeks to come!
*A "guess what Baby C is" poll is posted above to the right, would love for you to take a guess!:)

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and I'll leave you with some words that are feeling very true to me today...

"Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good. His love endures forever." - Psalms 136:1

11 Weeks, so much sleep!

I knew people said you were tired at the begining of pregnancy, but never did I realize what they meant until now. Seriously during the week I go to bed at the 9 o'clock hour (not normal for me) and when 7 o'clock a.m. rolls around I am still tired! Geez, looking forward to the 2nd trimester so I can get some energy back. Poor Chris has been doing more of the cleaning duties lately because I am just too pooped. Oh well, I hear the better part is right around the corner! I mean I got a nursery to plan and house renovations to do!! No time for this!

*11 Weeks*

{Please excuse that the main point of this picture, my belly, is half way cut off. We were in a hurry to get out the door for dinner and we know Chris & patience :) }

I'm 11 weeks!

Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 11 weeks
Size of baby: The size of a lime
Total Weight Gain/Loss: The verdict is out next Wednesday, ha!
Maternity Clothes: Still wearing all regular clothes
Gender: ?!? Can't wait to find out when the big day will be!
Movement: Not yet, but I do get weird feelings in my tummy - there's def. something in there!
Sleep: Sleeping pretty good, minus the 3-4 bathroom trips
What I miss: My planning personality, I've taken the short cuts lately - too pooped!
Cravings: Let's just say I discorvered YoLo wayyyy too early on in pregnancy:)
Symptoms: Sleepy, did I already say that? Ha! Can't complain!
Best Moment this week: Dinner with some good friends on Saturday. One of them is pregnant too and the others have little ones, just talking about them all together makes me so happy about the memories to come!

We had a pretty chill weekend and bought our new tile for the kitchen countertops and back splash! I am sooo excited! Sorry guys, you must say goodbye to the green & red kitchen {Hallelujah! haha!} We should be getting it installed next weekend and I can't wait... pictures to come! We have lots of home projects planned before the little one get here. I am ready to get on it so I can enjoy the last few months when it is 110 degrees outside and I am very large :) Chris has already started talking about the "nesting" period. Oh lawwwwdy, please pray for me when this OCD husband hits that stage!
Until next time, happy snowing to all!

10 Weeks-n-Things!

Well, I finally get to share some pictures I had been hiding until the big announcement. Memphis has been getting some crazy weather and snow has turned into not such an unexpected thing around here. We've only had one really good fluffy snow so far, but it's only the begining of February! I had a snow day and drug Chris out into the 4 inches of fluff! We had so much fun and had this great idea to build a preggers snowman! Haha! It was hilarious! Needless to say our neighbors had lots of questions for us all week. I figured it being Memphis the sun would melt it the next day, but since it was freezing cold Mr. Snowman {well I guess she's a Mrs.} stuck around all week. We finally knocked her down on Friday as I was a little worried someone might stop by during the weekend. Meet Mrs. Snowman...

Copper absolutely loved the snow! She looks a little sad here, she must have been thinking about not being the only baby of the house :(

As I said in my last post, we had some of our close friends over to make the announcement about Baby C! We kinda tricked them into having a Memphis vs. UAB gathering, but surprised them with this shirt when they walked in... It says "Future Tiger" with an arrow.
It was so special to get to share this with our friends! They were all so excited for us and it made me even more excited about the future!! Even some of Baby C's friends came over for the big news. Hudson, Kate & Ryder all joined the party! I didn't get a picture of all 3, but here is one of sweet Ryder! I just want to pinch those cheeks :)

One of the reasons I started this blog was to keep family & friends up to date with all that's happening. I also want to have this to look back on so I can remember each step of the way! So let the weekly stats begin...

*10 WEEKS*

I'm 10 weeks!

Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 10 weeks
Size of baby: The size of a small plum
Total Weight Gain/Loss: We will see in 2 weeks at the next dr. visit (neither at the last visit)
Maternity Clothes: Still wearing all regular clothes
Gender: ?!? thinking we will find out at the end of March
Movement: A little too early for that
What I miss: Probably just energy, my bedtime has bumped up quite a few hours!
Cravings: Cereal… at least I’m getting my milk, right?!
Symptoms: Just tired, I’ve been very lucky with the morning sickness and the little bit of nauseousness I had has subsided, whew.
Best Moment this week: Hubby touching my belly, as I sat there I thought wow, were gonna be a Momma & Daddy :)

We've had a wonderful time getting to share the news with everyone. I think it is finally sinking in and we are truly realizing what a blessing this is! We have our next doctor appointment 2 weeks from today! I can't wait to see the little baby all over again! Please pray for us through this exciting journey:) We love you all~
